Recycling Carts Coming the Week of November 22!
Informational meeting held November 4; more to come.
Thanks to a grant awarded to the City by the St. Louis-Jefferson Solid Waste Management District, the City will be having new Recycling Carts assembled and rolled out to each residence in the City the week of November 22. The manufacturer has informed the City that the carts, originally scheduled to be delivered on November 8, have been delayed.
The new 65-gallon recycling carts are able to handle all types of recyclable materials with no need for sorting or cleaning! Just throw all recyclable items in the cart (as you would a trash can) and roll it to the curb no recycling day.
The City's solid waste hauler provides "Single Stream" curbside recycling which means, as a rule of thumb, that they will take just about anything that doesn't rot. For specifics on the multitude of items that are recyclable please click here.
So, when the cart is delivered, feel free to use it and see how easy it is to recycling and how many things you can recycle.

Two new businesses open in Warson Woods
Wasabi Sushi Bar (formerly Sansui) and American Visions Contemporary Crafts have recently opened in Warson Woods at 9983 and 9999 Manchester, respectively. Drop in and welcome them to the neighborhood!
City Adopts New Building and other Technical Codes
At its October 2010 meeting, the Board of Aldermen adopted 2009 edition of the International Code Council's Building, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Property Maintenance and other Codes as amended by St. Louis County. The City uses St. Louis County Department of Public Works to perform certain of its inspections. Under the agreement with County, when the County revises its code, the City does likewise. Interested in a Party in The Park?
Residents can reserve a city park for private events. While we do require a deposit, there is no charge for rental. Call city hall at 314.965.3100 for reservations.
City Hall is Looking for a Few Good Photos!!!
We are asking residents to look through their albums and dig out photos of the neighborhood and Warson Woods (from becoming a village in 1936 or before, to present). These photos will be displayed in a new area on the Web Site coming soon. If you have anything of interest, please contact City Hall at 314-965-3100. All originals will be carefully scanned and returned. Proper credits and captions will also be acknowledged.
Right of Way Planting
The Missouri Department of Conservation has not only made a list of suitable trees available for right of way planting, they also recommend the following guidelines for trimming trees planted in the "Right of Way". 8 feet for pedestrians and 14 feet for traffic. A copy of the tree listing is available at City Hall.
