Solid Waste CollectionThe City has a contract with Allied Waste Services (636-947-5959) as the sole licensed trash collector for City residents. Allied bills each home owner for the service. Trash Collection is on a twice weekly basis with heavy trash pickup on the second collection day of each week. In addition, recycling items are picked up on Fridays, while yard wastes are picked up on Wednesdays (except that there is a 2nd weekly collection on Saturdays from October 15th through November 30th). Both recyclable and yard wastes must be placed at the curb for pickup. Recognized Holidays are: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If collection falls on one of these days, all collections for the week are moved back one day with Saturday being used as the final day of collection. The normal collection schedule will resume on the Monday following the holiday week. If collection is missed due to inclement weather, it will be handled like a holiday with all collections for the week moved back one day. Sewer Lateral Repair ProgramThe voters of the City have adopted and the City administers a program for repair and replacement of failed sewer laterals running from the street right-of-way to a private residence. Pet LicenseAll dogs in the City of Warson Woods require a yearly City Dog License. to obtain a dog tag, the current rabies inoculation is required and a fee of $2.00. Animal ControlThe City has an animal Ordinance in effect which prohibits dogs from running at large and defecating on property other than that of the owner or person responsible for the animal. If you have a problem with a dog running at large, call St. Louis County Animal Control at 726-6655. For other dog problems, the resident must sign a complaint against the owner. GOVERNMENT/TAXESThe City of Warson Woods is a Fourth Class Missouri City governed by a Mayor, elected by all registered voters, and eight members of a Board of Aldermen, two elected from each of the four Wards within the City. Elections are held every first Tuesday followed by first Monday in April. In each Ward, one Alderman for a two-year term. Every even-numbered year, a Mayor is elected at large for a term of two years. The Board of Aldermen meets once monthly on the third Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall. All residents are encouraged and invited to attend. County GovernmentThe City of Warson Woods is a part of St. Louis County. The County Courthouse is located in Clayton at 41 South Central Avenue. A County Executive and seven local area Councilmen govern. The City of Warson Woods is represented by the councilmen from the fifth district. State GovernmentWarson Woods is in the 15th Missouri Senate District and the 87th and 91st Missouri House Districts. The City is represented by the Second United States Congressional District and two Missouri Senators elected at large.
