PUBLIC SAFETY

The Warson Woods Police Department has the duty to enforce all ordinances of the City and the laws of the State of Missouri. The Chief of Police directs the seven member Department. All officers are state certified and have undergone intensive training programs.

Residents must also be aware and consider it a duty to take measures to protect themselves and their property, as well as the property of their neighbors. Our Police Department offers the following tips:

Get Involved! If you see anything suspicious, report it immediately to the Police Department.

Do Not leave doors or windows unlocked OR leave garage doors open.

Be Aware of what is going on in your neighborhood.

Do Not try to take action yourself.

Join the Neighborhood Watch Program if you do not already belong. Call 965-3100 for further information.

Operation Ident tools are available at the Department. Stop in and ask to borrow an engraver and mark your valuables. Burglars would rather take items that are not marked! Recovered marked property can also be returned to the owner. If you prefer, the Police Department will also videotape your possessions. You supply the video tape and weÕll supply the camera. Bicycle Registration is also provided by the Police Department. Call 965-3100 for an appointment to register your bike. This will help recover your bicycle in the event it is stolen.

Fire Fighting Services and Emergency Medical Service are contracted through the City of Glendale Fire Department. Not only do they provide emergency services, they also provide prevention services. A member of the Glendale Fire Department will come to your home and complete a safety inspection making recommendations, if necessary, for improvement. They will suggest locations for smoke detection equipment and install the detectors if you have them. Call 965-0000 for information about the fire department services.

Visible Addresses are a must in an emergency! If the Police Department or the Fire Department is summoned to your home, all they have to go by is your address. If the address is not displayed or not visible, the response time for your emergency is lengthened. Please be sure your address is displayed, visible from the street and illuminated at night.
